5 Selects w/ Crates LA
Crates LA is back for another record pop-up this Saturday 1-7pm at In Sheep’s Clothing Records.
In anticipation of the record sale this Saturday, Crates LA has sent over another selection of rarities from their music channel. Check below for some incredible modern soul, reggae, and jazz funk dug up from the darkest corners of record shops. If you like what you hear, there’s good news – all five of these selections will be available for sale at the pop-up this Saturday!
For those who missed it the first time, Crates LA is a blog and music channel dedicated to uncovering obscure and unknown songs across a multitude of genres including sweet soul, cosmic jazz, soft rock, digital reggae, latin funk, and more. The founder of the channel, who prefers to remain anonymous, spends countless hours “listening to thousands of bad records so you don’t have to.”
From Crates LA: “I dig for records constantly and love discovering new music. In fact, the discovery is the biggest allure of record collecting for me. You aren’t fed the same music recycled by some algorithm. It has broadened my musical tastes and I have become a much more eclectic listener. I am honored to be invited by ISC for this pop up and I am very excited to share all these under-the-radar gems and certified classics. I hope you discover some new music!”
The popup will go down this Saturday, May 5th from 1-7pm. Once again, hundreds of rare, obscure, private press records will be available for the first time. All records will be personally annotated and a listening station will be available. We’ll also be pouring complementary Good Boy wine!
