                      Released on vinyl for the first time on Chee Shimizu’s 17853 imprint, Pier & Loft is a timeless collection of “kankyo ongaku” style ambient compositions written for a fashion exhibit held at a warehouse in the Tokyo bay area. Yoshimura’s signature delicate, infectious melodies and Yamaha DX-7 mastery craft vivid imagery of the sea breeze, horizon, Tokyo, and ice cream. Interestingly, there’s even drum machine on this ambient album with B4 “In The Sea Breeze” that sounds a bit like some of the productions from the YMO crew on Yen Records. Possibly Yoshimura’s best…
