We came across this one randomly while digging in a $5 and under bin… Inspired School Of Astral Music is the ambient side project of Portland-based experimental producer Sam Jones aka Bill Doob. The title of the album Celestrial Stairway is described by the artist as “a visionary access point to a higher state of mental consciousness.” The 5 untitled tracks contain dark and mysterious new age, taking us through the “Celestrial Stairway” with fluttering synth arpeggiations and calming, echoed tones reminiscent of something from the Lovely Music catalog or the archives of Pauline Anna Strom. Deep listening for the pensive mind, we suggest sitting down, closing your eyes, and trying to climb the staircase within while listening.
