New World Science – Osmos (Movements)
Canadian electronic collective New World Science (made up of Ramzi, Priori, Ex-terrestrial, and Emmanuel Thibau) follow up their heady debut, New Atlantis, Vol. 1, with this full length. Within its four movements the record explores the space between modern electronics and traditional natural acoustics, with each composition defined by its own stylistic multi-stream journey.
Whether the early new age minimalism in “Movement 1”, the otherworldly tribal beat of “Movement 2”, the dreamy 80’s synth introspection of “Movement 3”, or the downtempo spacey lounge of “Movement 4”, the record culminates into a luscious off-planet excursion into contemplation and altered musical modes. A beautiful, meditative, and entrancing LP, and a new age future classic.
