Marc Hollander, Aksak Maboul – Onze Danses Pour Combattre La Migraine

Pino Palladino’s debut studio LP Notes with Attachments is a collaboration with producer, multi-instrumentalist and guitar maestro Blake Mills. A mixture of West African, Cuban, jazz, funk, and folk, the album presents over 20 years of inspirations and ideas from Palladino’s varied musical history. The instrumentations are wildly creative with credits ranging from “Gamelan fretless bass” to “Fender Djurkel” and “Poly-sax.” “Each composition took a different route, from different sessions, through different methods. The through-line was a shared sensibility of intuition and experimentation.”
