Powder – Powder in Space

Years before shifting her focus to the more laid-back electronic pop of her trio 5AM, Momoko Goto aka Powder was deeply immersed in club sounds as one of the preeminent DJ’s to emerge from Japan in the last decade. Blending classic deep house, psychedelic techno, left-field electronics, dubby grooves, and much more in her sets, Powder had a unique eclecticism that made her sets a complete joy for those looking beyond the  confines of “house or techno.” Released in 2019 on Tim Sweeney’s Beats in Space Records, the 12-inch vinyl edition of Powder in Space is a snapshot of Powder’s singular sound with two of her own tracks alongside a classic ’90s Daphne instrumental and the first-time release of friends Samo DJ & Hidden Operator’s “Захват Сзади Rox.” The EP also came accompanied by an insane animated music video for “New Tribe” along with a continuous mix featuring all the tracks.
