Roland, Poobah Records, and dublab Present “The Celebration of Ras G”
The event will include a Ras G streetwear drop and performances from Dibiase, Mndsgn, Koreatown Oddity, and AshTreJinkins.
On April 4th aka “Ras G Day”, Roland, Poobah Records and dublab are partnering with the family of Ras G to celebrate his life, music and legacy. As one of the most influential artists from the past years, Ras G created a sound and universe in itself, hailing from Leimert Park, his music went on to define the sound of Los Angeles and beyond with the use of Roland SP samplers and vast library of sounds, effects, beat, rhythms that influenced friends and fellow musicians such as Flying Lotus, Thundercat, and Linafornia just to name a few.
The in-person celebration will occur from 3-7pm at Poobah Records in Pasadena. Admission is free with no RSVP required, and the concert can be streamed worldwide via dublab.

From his early beginnings as a dublab resident DJ, to his releases on Poobah Records, and Leaving Records, Ras G continues to be an important part of this community. With his passing in 2019, his work has only become more influential and the sound he crafted with his Roland SP-404 gave countless producers around the world endless inspiration.
The Roland Lifestyle Ras G Tribute Streetwear Collection will be unveiled during “The Celebration of Ras G.” 100% of proceeds from the sale of the Ras G collection in-person and online, as well as a $2,500 donation from Roland, will benefit Ras G’s hometown of Leimert Park in partnership with the Fernando Pullman Community Arts Center through music education programs for children. Roland is also presenting the Ras G Estate and all artists performing this year at the Poobah Record Shop on 404 Day with customized Ras G Tribute SP-404MKII samplers and V-MODA headphones featuring colorful abstract artwork by the artist Teebs.
