We have a very special edition of “Home Listening” today… Our friend Chee Shimizu has shared 15 songs from his favorite ECM records along with a selection of CD’s that he’s been listening to at home. If you’re not already familiar, Chee is a big hero of ours and the writer/selector behind the highly influential Obscure Sound disc guide. He also runs one of our favorite record shops, Organic Music.

Most recently, Chee released his first EP with guitarist miku-mari on Lovefingers’ ESP Institute. On Reconstruction, Chee “collaged percussion samples and personal field recording utilizing four CDJs, supplementing with live windchimes and Andean chajchas, while miku-mari coupled a guitar-controlled synthesizer.”
