Beautiful collection of French private-press psychedelic rock, folk, and pop music. Some serious gems in here from the beginning of the home recording era including Kennlisch’s self-titled ethereal cosmic synth rock and Mar Vista’s whispered drum machine organ psych.

“Best of” compilation from the Now defunct record label Kiosque d’Orphee (although more a record manufacturer than a label) based in France and founded by Georges Batard (brother of Guy Batard) sometime in the late 1950s. Artists pay to get some pressings. By the 1970s they grown, releasing folk, traditional and pop music. It also released artist-funded avantgarde and experimental music in very small editions.
