Originally released in 2018, Hot Weather was at the forefront of the UK Streetsoul resurgence. The double A-sided 12″ offers two distinct takes on the song, created by Paul “Apiento” Byrne and Lexx at SE6 Studio in South London. Los Angeles–based singer-songwriter Harriet Brown lent his silky vocals and lush guitar work, adding a sensual, sun-drenched vibe to the track. Both producers fine-tuned their versions independently. Paul collaborated with Sade keyboardist Andrew Hale, with whom he forms the project Open Space.
