Description

Subwoofers initially appeared in the trunks of my friend’s 1980s import cars. Calling the installations of these boxes, amps and wires amateur would be far too kind. Most of the time the cars barely ran and the quality of the audio equipment matched the vehicles they were in. Household speaker boxes, (and eventually real subs & amps) were repurposed and squeezed into any truck where they could fit. Still, the extra speakers did the intended job of pumping up the dbs to new highs, and most importantly pushing the low end frequencies to the point where the rust would practically shake right off of the car. From that point on the importance of bass in music became a lifelong obsession.

Shake Your Trunk is made up of 4 tracks of thumping dub, designed for driving slow, windows down and letting your trunk rattle itself into oblivion.
