Nakayama Munetoshi – Compass For Nychlf CS

Description

Inspired by a 2018 dream by Munetoshi, the album follows the story of a boy on an exploration, which is mirrored by the rhythmic progression throughout the record.

The album creates this effect by using techniques such as re-recording cassette tapes played backwards, looped guitar phrases and drum samples using only the attack sound.

Compass For Nychlf follows Munetoshi’s previous releases on Muzan Editions, Terminal Dream and Umé.

Munetoshi runs a hair salon in Osaka and primarily records music using five synthesisers set into the wall beside the cash register.
