UPEND presents Kali Malone’s premiere U.S. pipe organ performance with Stephen O’Malley
A must-see pipe organ performance from the Royal College of Music alumnus Kali Malone.
If you ever visited the In Sheep’s Clothing hi-fi bar in the morning, you may remember hearing slow, organ drones playing through the Klipschorns. Kali Malone’s trance inducing, strictly pipe organ album The Sacrificial Code was a big favorite of ours during those quiet hours in the bar where life seemed to stand still. A profound deep listen, Malone’s subtle, methodical chord changes on the resonant pipe organ hit that perfect “perception-altering” zone that we’d come to love during long listening sessions at the bar.
Next Tuesday, April 5th UPEND is presenting Kali Malone’s premiere U.S. pipe organ performance featuring works from The Sacrificial Code. She will play on “The Great Organs” at First Congregational Church – one of the world’s largest church pipe organs. If that’s not enough, Malone will be accompanied by Sunn O)))’s Stephen O’Malley on several 4-handed organ pieces.
