Fabiano Do Nascimento – Mundo Solo

A masterpiece of abstract trip-hop and acid jazz, Strange Emotion is the final album by Audio Sports aka sound artist Aki Onda. Once a supergroup featuring Boredoms’ Yamatsuka Eye and downtempo legend Nobukazu Takemura, Audio Sports became the solo project of Aki Onda after the group’s 1994 album Strange Fruits. A1 “Yellow Fever (Ancient And Modern)” hits on a sort of ECM-esque electronic jazz a la John Surman or Azimuth featuring a minimal synth sequence accompanied by emotive saxophone. B2 “Never Personal” slithers along a fretless bass groove and an intimate vocal from a singer named Aya, who collaborates frequently with experimental musician Otomo Yoshihide. Yoshihide actually appears on closer “Yellow Fever(Labyrinth Of The Night)” with moody guitar and a wildly expressive turntable solo.
