It’s hard to pick a favorite between Fripp & Eno’s pair of mid-70’s proto-ambient albums on Island Records. Both prominently showcase the duo’s early experiments in their trademark sounds that would come to be known as “Frippertronics” and “Enossification,” respectively. They’re certainly two sides of the same coin and perfect for different moods. Looking to melt your mind? (No Pussyfooting). Calm it? Evening Star. For that reason, Evening Star has been on the turntable just slightly more these days as we’ve been in a more meditative zone.
