R.N.A. Organism – R.N.A.O Meets P.O.P.O

After an incredible trilogy of EPs, Holy Tongue, a group consisting of producer Al Wooten aka Deadboy, drummer/percussionist Valetina Magaletti, and bassist Zongamin, returns with their first full-length album. On Deliverance and Spiritual Warfare, the group melts elements of dub, jazz, post-punk, and krautrock into something innovative and rich. In some ways, it feels like they have picked up where Burnt Friedman and Jaki Liebezeit left off with their string of “Secret Rhythms” releases. Legendary avant-garde musician Steve Beresford of The Slits, General Strike, and Frank Chickens contributes prepared piano on “Joachim” and closer “I Am Here In A Place Beyond Desire Or Fear.” Through their use of sound design, unconventional rhythms, and dub techniques, Holy Tongue continues to push into new terrain.
