Produced by the legendary Eumir Deodato, Intimate Connection by New York City–based ensemble Kleeer is a groundbreaking boogie funk masterpiece and roller disco favorite. The album was released in 1984 at a time when synth programming, drum machines, vocoders, and computers had taken over the musical landscape. The 808 grooves here are undeniably futuristic and it’s no wonder tracks from the album have been sampled by Tupac, DJ Quik, Diamond D among others. A4 Intimate Connection and B3 Tonight are the clear cuts off the album – sleazy, sensual, smooth dancefloor classics that still sound fresh today.
