Bowery Electric – Beat

View Album Artwork
Colombian composer and sound artist Lucrecia Dalt channels the boleros of her youth on 2022 breakthrough album ¡Ay!. While her early works explored abstract sound design and experimental electronics, ¡Ay! turns inward with organic instrumentation (percussion, clarinet, flute, double bass, trumpet) with the sound and syncopation of tropical latin genres encountering Lucrecia’s adventurous impulse and metaphysical sci-fi meditations. In sound and spirit, ¡Ay! is a heliacal exploration of native place and environmental tuning, where Dalt reverses the spell of temporal containment. Through the spiraling tendencies of time and topography, Lucrecia has arrived where she began.
