Featured in the “Organic” section of Chee Shimizu’s Obscure Sound disc guide, Life Line by Michael Bierylo is a simple but gorgeous new age guitar album that seems on the surface like another Windham Hill knock-off, but in reality is actually much deeper and more complex than a majority of that catalog… Bierylo’s minimal but effective use of effects transforms his 6-strings into an orchestra of sound expressing the full beauty of life with delicate melodies and lush harmonies. At times the music reminds us a bit of Jonny Nash’s early guitar works on Melody As Truth (or the other way around)…
