Piero Umiliani – Atmospheres
Atmospheres is a collection of experimental electronic compositions from Italian film and library music composer Piero Umiliani. Created during a time of “musical confusion” for Piero Umiliani, who had already had a long and fruitful career in soundtracks and electronic jazz production, the compositions have an almost sci-fi quality to them with both organic and futuristic sounds. Live percussion forms the backbone of the tracks while electronic keyboards and synthesizers provide links to a parallel universe. Though not intended for any specific film projects, the tracks retain a cinematic quality making the entire listen play out the O.S.T. for an imaginary film.
