Ray Lynch – Deep Breakfast
An indie new age classic that went platinum, Ray Lynch’s Deep Breakfast melds classical baroque technique with cosmic new age sounds. You’d think with those two genres the music would come with some pretentiousness, but somehow the compositions remain light and easily accessible. Bubbling synthesizers, swirling arpeggios, atmospheric pads – the elements are a bit overly “new age,” but in that perfectly playful way that, in this writer’s opinion, is the sweet spot of the genre. “Evelyn slapped Raymond on the back with a laugh. ‘You must be starved, old friend. Come into my apartments, and we’ll suffer through a deep breakfast of pure sunlight.'”
