Johnny Lamas – Danza Cosmica

Here’s another album that we picked up from our friends over at Séance Centre. Norwegian multi-instrumentalist Svend Undseth’s Windshave is a one of a kind work that blends a variety of genres including jazz, new age, folk, dream pop, and ambient. The album is comprised of music used in various multimedia shows including a ballet photomontage, a makeup instructional video, and something called “Ultra Environments”… As such, there’s not much of a unifying theme or direction to the album, but that doesn’t seem to take away from the magic of the songs at all. A2 Aquilla Aquela is a gorgeous bit of ethereal dream pop with new age percussion, flute, and angelic vocals from singer Berit Lohne. B4 Bored is a loose, electronic jazz piece that features singer Kari Austdahl lamenting that she’s bored… It’s all wonderfully unique and a solid listen all the way through.
