Ragnarök – S.T.

Part of the band’s “late-period” after Robert Wyatt and Kevin Ayers had left, Bundles is the first of three albums released on Harvest from the legendary Canterbury psych/progressive rock band. While it’s a fair criticism that this album is a bit more straightforward in the jazz-rock zone and not as avant-garde as the group’s earlier work, Bundles does contain it’s fair share of magic. Closing track “The Floating World” is an absolutely gorgeous minimal ambient track featuring a trance-inducing organ line that immediately pulls you in while Ray Warleigh’s alto/bass flute gracefully soars above the clouds.
