Essential “craudrock,” oddball post-punk, and wagon dance music from the mysterious Ireland-based crew Wah Wah Wino… Absolutely Wino put the label on the map back in 2017 and featured all of the characters in the Wino universe including the massively talented producer Morgan Buckley, harmonica hero Davy Kehoe, and “The Bastard.” It’s hard to pin down the collective’s sound: dubby, psychedelic, experimental, motorik, boogie woogie, non-music, house? There’s a certain trance-inducing quality to it all, but nothing at all like the new age sort of “healing” aesthetics popular these days and more like the kind of trance you fall into after getting blasted with your closest friends in a tiny, smokey room all night, losing sense of the time…
