Владимир Леви, Ким Брейтбург – Млечный Сад
Another mystery record as far as history goes, this obscure USSR new age one-off has been a big favorite amongst us at ISC. Recorded in Latvia in ’93, (transliteration) Vladimir Levi and Kim Brejtburg’s Mlečnyj Sad, is an amazing combination of epic ambient extravagance, balearic downtempo, and jazzy new age with ECM sensibilities. Acoustic guitar, fretless bass, textural balearic and airy synths meet beautiful Enya like chant vocals and intimate spoken word. Deep and atmospheric, the album also has an amazing medieval cover to boot. Highly recommended for fans of Eberhard Weber’s ECM releases, “floating” ambient like the recent R_R_, or any of the dreamy new age beauties we all know and love.
