House of Dad was a short-lived alias of prolific Australian producer Andrew Wilson aka Andras Fox. Released in 2016 via Wilson’s own H.O.D. imprint, the project uses breakbeats, ambient textures, and samples as its foundation with an ear fixed to ’90s chill-out rooms. B1 “Stereo Dunnies” is our pick of the bunch here with its slow, submerged breakbeat and aquatic pads. The track reminds us a lot of Terre Thaemlitz’s classic Tranquilizer album, especially the track “Hovering Glows.” Both tracks utilize a machine beeping noise together with a deep 808 kick drum together to a somehow calming effect.
