Italian-Greek musician Costantino Luca Rolando Kiriakos has been a pioneering force in the Athens electronic music scene since the mid-80’s, wearing hats as diverse as composer, sound engineer, and installation artist. His countless projects and collaborators include Tuxedomoon, Stereo Nova, In Trance 95, and RAW. Kiriakos’ debut album as Coti K is a lost Greek downtempo masterpiece that we’ve been hearing in some of our favorite mixes for years now. Opener “Theros” features a highly addictive synth sequence alongside spoken word and angelic vocals. Dark Entries’ reissue also includes two Coti K tracks that have previously never been released on vinyl including our favorite “Shoal,” which is a dubby chill-out room track featuring a similarly hypnotic synth line and ethereal organs. Highly recommended!
