Toshiyuki Honda – Modern
A limited edition LP of previously unreleased live recordings from a session at The Museum Of Modern Art, Stockholm, January 16, 1977. Modern Art features “organic music” maestro Don Cherry at his best performing selections from his then recently released album “Hear & Now” with a group of likeminded local musicians. The performances are beautifully loose, with Cherry laying out and allowing his Swedish collaborators to solo and improvise freely over the material, bringing new perspectives and ideas to Cherry’s original themes.
