Giusto Pio – Motore Immobile
A daytime favorite at the In Sheep’s Clothing listening bar, violinist Giusto Pio’s Motore Immobile is a sonic masterpiece from the late 70’s Italian avant-garde scene made in collaboration with rock legend Franco Battiato. Everything is quite simple and exceedingly beautiful here. The album is comprised of two minimalist organ drone tracks with light accompaniment. A side “Motore immobile” adds the heavenly voice of Martin Kleist and Giusto Pio’s violin to Danilo Lorenzini’s organ drone, while B side “Ananta” is accented by a piano sweeps and some sparse but extremely well-placed notes by pianist Michele Fedrigotti. Perfect deep listening and an ideal way to start your morning.
