Guru Guru – Hey Du
Guru Guru’s Hey Du is a classic kraut record on Brain that we first heard on the legendary Lovefingers daily mp3 blog. A1 Starway was featured as a “fingertrack” on Oct 17, 2007 while the insanely catchy B2 Taoma is included on the site’s “Follow My Dreams” mix by Organic Music’s Chee Shimizu. We highly recommend checking out both… The band explores a variety of styles on the record including synth disco, upbeat fusion, and even horror space prog. It certainly can get a bit silly at times with the group’s loose spoken word style vocals and wild arrangements, but that’s the charm of Guru Guru, a band with insane musical chops that never tried too hard to be one thing or another.
