Kate Bush – The Kick Inside
By some strange circumstance, Kate Bush has made it back to the top of the charts, and we’re here for it! Hounds of Love is an absolute classic, but we also wanted to highlight Bush’s debut album The Kick Inside. Released when Bush was just 19 years old, the album is not as pioneering and groundbreaking sonically as Hounds but soars with Bush’s cinematic and fantastical songwriting. The story goes that the singer had recorded a demo at just 13 years old that got into the hands of Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour who played the tapes for EMI executives who agreed to sign her. The rest is history and now somewhere along the way an alternate reality called the “Upside Down” is involved in the mix as well…
