Khotin – Beautiful You

Originally self-released on cassette in 2018 and later repressed the following year to vinyl by Ghostly International, Dylan Khotin-Foote’s third full length album stands as his finest work to date and a future classic of ambient music’s new generation. A personal journey through a dream-like haze of warm pads, field recordings, vocal samples and minimal downtempo beats, the inspiration behind Beautiful You is actually not as sentimental as the album’s title and artwork might lead on. In Khotin’s own words there’s “No distinct storylines or themes. It’s really just a collection of songs as rudimentary as that sounds..” An excellent practice in sonic resistance, Beautiful You is perfect music for a solitary experience. We recommend a full headphones on listen for this one, paired with a nice walk if possible.
