Nehoki – Petersminde

Recorded in Mols, a remote peninsula region located in the eastern coast of Denmark with ambient producer DJ Sports at the controls, “Petersminde” is a dubbed out, effortless listen for the masses where organic textures and acoustic instruments meet dub FX and synth pads. The playing here is wonderful loose and laid back, with each song centering around a core groove that builds slowly from the interplay between the musicians and producer DJ Sports. There’s a little something for everyone here – balearic Spanish guitar “Morgentrack,” downtempo dub “Version,” indie post-punk “Præstekrageungerne,” bluesy fusion “Tema,” beatless ambient “Italien.” It’s a relaxing trip all the way through and highly recommended for fans of Durutti Column, Steve Hiett, Mad Professor, and Music from Memory.
