Long considered a grail of city pop but only recently reissued on vinyl, Seaside Lovers’ Memories in Beach House brings together three Japanese music icons of the ’80s Akira Inoue, Hiroshi Sato and Masataka Matsutoya (husband of Yumi Matsutoya). All three are master keyboard players and together deliver a collection of harmonically and compositionally lush island fusion. The album is mostly instrumental but includes some light balearic vocals across the 9 tracks. Summer might be over here, but you can always get to the sea with this one…
