Tim Berne, Bill Frisell – …Theoretically

Big thanks to our friend Andrew “Lovefingers” for this gorgeous selection. The Singers Unlimited were a vocal jazz quartet formed by master singer / vocal arranger Gene Puerling. The group’s sound is surprisingly deep for a four person vocal group. A lot of studio magic going on here – the complex harmonies and melodic movements were achieved by modern (at the time) multi-tracking techniques involving multiple overdubs from each singer to create a fuller, richer sound. Listen to “B1 Feelings” and you’ll be instantly hooked.
