Spike – Orange Cloud Nine

Orange Cloud Nine collects the lo-fi bedroom psychedelic pop works of outsider Dutch musician Spike Wolters, who was apparently stoned every day for a solid 8 years while recording these tracks. As expected, the sounds are supremely laid back with Wolter’s enigmatic vocals and balearic-tinged guitar lines leading the way to stoner bliss. Compiled by Golf Channel Recordings Phil South, Orange Cloud Nine has a number of great tracks including the blue-eyed reggae of “Fooling Around” and the outsider soft rock groover “Kanti Dadum,” which has become something of a balearic anthem.
