The Main Ingredient was a Harlem based soul group composed of lead singer Donald McPherson, Luther Simmons, Jr., and Panama-born Tony Silvester. They got their name came from a Coke bottle… Led by producer/arranger Bert DeCoteaux, the group would reach the R&B Top charts with a string of singles in the ’70s including “You’ve Been My Inspiration,” a cover of The Impressions’ “I’m So Proud,” and “Spinning Around (I Must Be Falling in Love).” Euphrates River is the group’s six studio album and includes the laidback classic “Summer Breeze,” which was originally recorded by American soft rock duo Seals and Crofts and later covered by The Isley Brothers.
