Michael Shrieve – Transfer Station Blue
Transfer Station Blue is a cult classic Berlin School style album recorded by Santana drummer Michael Shrieve, his brother Kevin, and legendary German electronic composer Klaus Schulze. The title track is beautifully rhythmic and percussive with guitar, synthesizers, and drums blending together to form a pulsing groove that later drops into a funky Santana style blues rock jam. “Communique – ‘Approach Spiral’” is another highlight that has more of a New Age feel to it with continuous percussion rhythms throughout setting an ethereal mood. Recommended for fans of kosmiche, Schulze’s Innovative Communication label, and the more cosmic new age territories.
