Tritonus – Between the Universes
Featured in the “Cosmic” section of Chee Shimizu’s Obscure Sound disc guide, Between the Universes by Tritonus is a progressive, psychedelic krautrock gem featuring warm, analog synthesizers and downtempo drum beats. The arrangement are quite progressive with vocals, acoustic guitar, and even a choir featured in some of the songs. The cut here, though, is for sure “Mars Detection” with its beautiful bubbling Moog synth bass and spacey analog lead. Compared to the rest of the tracks, it’s quite simple with little more than a few synths and a slow drum beat, but works perfectly well to set that cosmic mood.
