Fine Rocky – Rocky Top Ballads

Our friends from Forager Records continue their streak of impeccably curated compilations with Sky Dust Drifter “a cosmic medley of sun-soaked AOR, psychedelic folk, and soft rock.” Collected from lost private press LP’s and 45’s from 1973-1980, the comp plays through dark, but sun-kissed moods reflecting on themes of “hard luck, heartache, and the inevitable loneliness of existence.” “I wanted to be rich and drive a big car. And my woman to be a playboy centerfold star. Now after working all day and diggin’ a ditch, I’m about ten dollars shy of feeling I’m rich…” Even better, many of the tracks are beat-driven and perfect for a late night lounge / dark bar setting.
