White Noise – An Electric Storm
Delia Derbyshire and Brian Hodgson, sound engineers at the legendary BBC Radiophonic Workshop, joined bassist David Vorhaus to form the psych-pop outfit White Noise. In 1969, the group would release An Electric Storm, a groundbreaking album employing several techniques that the BBC duo had mastered during their time working as sound effect artists on Doctor Who. Alternating between the effervescent, rhapsodic beauty of the mind and the damp, malodorous dungeons of the soul, these recordings are a testament to their inspired, haunted vision. – Wyatt
