Lost & Sound: The Movie in Your Mind

Film noir, exotica, and cinematic sounds from our friend Lauren Fay Levy aka Lost & Sound.
Hey friends, back with another playlist! If you’ve been following along, you may remember our good friend and frequent collaborator Lauren Fay Levy aka Lost & Sound. Lauren is a music supervisor in Los Angeles and what she would describe as a “serial” playlist maker. This time, she comes true with another themed collection that isn’t so much genre or sound-based, but, like cinema, takes you on a journey through moving pictures. Expect a wide range here – the warm vibrato of Édith Piaf, Eden Ahbez’s lost exotica, modern Japanese ambient, Beverly Glenn-Copeland… As usual, Lauren recommends listening in sequence!
From Lauren: “The melancholy aristocrat walks the dark, smokey alley amongst black cats, glistening puddles of rain, and a chorus of “ooh’s”…when suddenly! The murder of the eyelined lady? Distant drums on a faraway shore? Half naked dancers swaying on a sunken moon? Or have you lost your mind again?”
