Bobbi Humphrey – Blacks and Blues

A Neapolitan jazz, disco, and rock bomb from Pugliese band Milords. Fans of Nu Genea will recognize the classic characteristics of the Neapolitan sound with beautiful melody-driven compositions, synthesizers, energetic drum grooves, and a certain Mediterranean balearic flavor. We’re particularly fond of opener A1 “Geronimo” which is an instrumental soul track featuring a ripping harmonica solo that seems to have been recorded like at one joy and ecstasy-filled concert. Vocals appear sparingly across the album in a more blues and rock-leaning direction. A3 “I Miei Pensieri” has a beautiful psychedelic flavor with an interesting soft vs. loud contrasting vocal delivery.
