Bootsy’s Rubber Band – Ahh…The Name Is Bootsy, Baby!
William Earl “Bootsy” Collins, of course, needs little introduction. “Bootzilla” aka “The Funky Tooth Fairy” aka “Casper the Funky Ghost” is undoubtably one of the greatest and most important funk bass players to ever do it. He brought “the-one” from James Brown to George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic, and also penned numerous hits as a solo artist with his Rubber Band. Ahh… The Name Is Bootsy, Baby! is all about B2 “Munchies For Your Love,” a near-ten-minute deeply psychedelic and sexual groover relating love to drugs and chocolate. It’s a cosmic trip into pure funk ecstasy in a way that only Bootsy can do with squelching space bass and powerful yet seductive vocals.
