A roller disco classic from one of the founding members of the great SoCal jam band War, Lee Oskar’s Before the Rain is a pleasant harmonica funk album with one incredible haunted tune. B4 “Haunted House” is the jam here and one you likely won’t forget after hearing it. The line “You remind me of a haunted house I once was in” is repeated throughout this funky skate jammer alongside an infectious bassline and harmonica and keyboard solos. We’re not really sure what that line means… Is that meant to be a compliment, or a diss? Someone once mentioned it might be a reference to an Emily Dickinson poem. We’re not sure. Either way, listen to this one again and again and stare at the album art while you’re at it.
