The first release on the legendary On-U Sound label featuring members of The Slits, The Pop Group, Roots Radics, Aswad, Raincoats and Flying Lizards, The New Age Steppers encapsulated the spirit of the melting pot of genres that was beginning to happen in London during the late 70s and early 80s. The alchemist of the group and founder of On-U Sound Adrian Sherwood is at the controls here producing his newly formed star studded post-punk meets dub collective. This is noisy, industrial dub at it’s finest with total sonic awareness of space within sound. A fun listen that doesn’t take itself too seriously and will sound amazing on pretty much any system.
