Third World – Love Is Out To Get You

This one’s a heavily underrated Third World 12″ single of the leading track from their album All The Way Strong. While the track itself is great, it’s all about the instrumental on this one (not available for streaming anywhere online so you’ll have to track down the vinyl) featuring a slightly more subdued vocoder line on a percussion driven reggae groove that gets even better with the tripped-out laser dubbing. It’s futuristic space age reggae that reminds us a bit of Caliban’s “Digital Reggae,” which also heavily leans into the sci-fi aesthetic. Also crucial to note, the way the horns come in on this one is just perfectly satisfying every time. Don’t miss it! Available for under $5 most times it comes up.
